Why go

This walk suits first-time visitors who want a manageable selection from the Cardiff Centenary Walk. The original walk marked Cardiff’s centenary of city status in 2005 with 41 landmarks. Here, seven selected highlights keep their relative sequence, from the market and parish church through the castle to the civic centre and The Hayes. This is a shortened selection, rather than the complete marked circuit. Allow the castle the longest visit and treat City Hall as an exterior stop. The final stroll back to The Hayes gives the day a clear finish, with time to pause between the main visits.
