The full story
Plan the last stage before entering the city. Confirm whether the route uses toll roads, how payment works for the vehicle and where you will park overnight. Hotel parking can cost substantially more than remote garages, while street spaces carry time limits and changing restrictions. Reserve a garage when possible and compare its entrance address with the hotel entrance; downtown blocks may have ramps on a different street or level. Avoid arriving during weekday rush periods or immediately before a major stadium event. Once parked, leave the car in place and use transit or walk for central sightseeing. Navigation can falter among lower-level roads, so read signs rather than relying entirely on GPS. Remove visible belongings whenever the vehicle is unattended. For departure, check traffic conditions and retrieve the car only after everyone and all luggage are ready.
