Why go
The tower shows a very different Cologne from the medieval centre. Completed in the early 1970s, it places high-rise housing directly beside the Rhine, where its mass is easy to read against the lower riverfront. Look at it during a Riehl walk if modern city architecture interests you; it does not justify planning a museum-style visit.
What to look for
- The 147-metre tower stands prominently on the Riehl stretch of the Rhine.
- Its residential scale contrasts with the smaller buildings along the river.
Useful to know
- View the building from the public riverfront as part of a Riehl walk.
- Treat it as a short exterior stop rather than an interior attraction.
