Why go
This beach day is for visitors who want to compare three different stretches of Guanacaste coast without changing their base. Begin in Tamarindo, where the town meets the open shore, and walk south along the road to Playa Langosta for a calmer setting. For the final stop, take a taxi or drive around the estuary to Playa Grande; the road connection is longer than the beaches’ apparent map distance suggests. Give each beach enough time for a real visit, and plan the return from Playa Grande separately. Check local water and weather conditions before entering the sea, and avoid treating the estuary as a walking shortcut.
