Getting Around Fukuoka
Hakata Station, Tenjin and the airport are the main orientation points for city travel. Subway and rail links make several sightseeing districts reachable without a car.
Why go
Hakata Station connects longer-distance rail with the city subway, while Tenjin is a central point for shopping and local movement. The airport also has a subway connection. For an outing beyond the city, check whether the relevant train, bus or ferry leaves from the station or port you expect, since the wider northern Kyushu network uses several operators.
Useful to know
Use Hakata Station for long-distance rail changes and Tenjin as a central city reference point.
Check the operator and departure point for regional trips before leaving; not all services use the same terminal.
