Fukuoka Tower
Fukuoka Tower rises above Momochihama's waterfront. Its observation deck gives a broad view of the city, Hakata Bay and the Sefuri Mountains, making it a useful stop when visibility is good.
From the top deck, Fukuoka's dense city blocks, bay and mountain backdrop come into one sweeping view. The tower itself is worth a second look from outside: 8,000 half-mirrors cover its triangular sides, giving the landmark its Mirror Sail name.
What to look for
The top observation deck looks across Hakata Bay toward the Sefuri Mountains.
The triangular exterior is covered in 8,000 half-mirrors.
Useful to know
Allow time to see the tower from Momochihama before going up; its mirrored shape reads best from outside.
Check the view and the official calendar before making the observation deck the focus of a waterfront trip.
