Hakozakigū Shrine
Hakozakigū is a major Hachiman shrine in Higashi Ward, with a substantial approach and historic gates. Its setting recalls the bay's long religious and defensive history.
Why go
Take time for the long approach before reaching the central shrine buildings; the sequence is part of the visit. This is a larger precinct than Tenjin's small shrines and can anchor an east-side heritage outing. Respect ceremonies and check any event-day access changes.
