Hohenzollern Bridge
Cross the Rhine on Cologne's steel-arched pedestrian path for an open view back to the cathedral. Trains run alongside, so the experience is busy and exposed.
The bridge's three arches frame the river while the cathedral rises above the west bank. Walking across reveals the scale of Cologne's rail hub and gives a different skyline from the cathedral square. Continue toward the east-bank promenade for a broader view, or turn back if time is short.
