Why go
The larger Müritz section reaches east from the lake toward Neustrelitz, while Serrahn forms a separate forest area. Lakes, moors and woodland create a quieter contrast to the Baltic coast. Marked hiking, cycling and water routes let you choose the landscape and effort that fit your day, rather than treating the park as one stop.
What to look for
- Look for the meeting of lake, reedbed and forest on the marked routes.
- Compare the open water of the Müritz section with Serrahn's woodland.
- Watch for water birds around the lakes and wetlands.
Useful to know
- Choose either the Müritz or Serrahn section before travel; they are separate parts of the park.
- Use an official marked walking, cycling or water route and check current notices for individual facilities.
