Why go
The village and acropolis form one of Rhodes's clearest landscape-and-history pairings. Wind through the small white houses and lanes, then look up to the ancient sanctuary and later fortifications on the rock. The elevated site changes the scale of the village below and opens views over the surrounding coast; the uphill approach is part of the experience.
What to look for
- Whitewashed houses line the village's narrow lanes.
- The Acropolis rises on a rock above Lindos.
- The Temple of Athena Lindia is part of the acropolis site.
Useful to know
- Allow extra time for the uphill route if visiting the acropolis; the village alone is a separate, gentler walk.
- Check the acropolis's own ticket and access information before planning an interior visit.
