Why go
This Sengokuhara outing pairs two very different collections with the landscape that surrounds them. Start with the Venetian Glass Museum, continue to the Lalique Museum Hakone, and then slow down on the botanical garden's wetland paths. The transfers are short local walks, so the day can be spent looking closely rather than crossing the region. The pampas grass fields are an optional final stop: they are most rewarding when the grasses are in season and conditions are pleasant. Without that addition, the two museums and garden still make a complete day. Check the garden's seasonal operation before setting out.
