Kaena Point
Kaʻena Point is Oʻahu’s remote western tip, reached on foot along an exposed coastal track. Seabird habitat and wide ocean horizons reward the effort.
Why go
The walk leaves paved roads behind and crosses hot, open terrain. At the point, protected habitat makes the meeting of two coastlines more than a map curiosity. Carry water, stay on marked trails and follow wildlife barriers; assess heat and daylight before starting.
What to look for
The western point joins two Oʻahu coasts.
Protected habitat supports seabirds.
Useful to know
Carry water on the exposed trail.
Stay outside wildlife barriers.
