The full story
Aloha Tower is a historic harbor landmark at Honolulu’s Pier 9. Its lighthouse form and waterfront position explain the city’s arrival-by-sea era.
The tower welcomed passenger ships long before air travel dominated arrivals to Hawaiʻi. From the harbor side it belongs to the working port, rather than standing as an isolated monument. This perspective makes the waterfront’s changing transport history visible during an otherwise short stop in central Honolulu.
- The 1926 tower stands at Honolulu Harbor.
- Its beacon recalls the passenger-ship arrival era.
