Nu‘uanu Pali
Nuʻuanu Pali Lookout opens above Oʻahu’s windward coast. The cliff panorama and battle history make this a brief stop with more context than a road pullout.
Why go
From the overlook, the Koʻolau escarpment and coastal plain explain the island’s dramatic east-west contrast. The site is also associated with Kamehameha’s 1795 battle for Oʻahu. Wind can be fierce; hold belongings securely and follow barriers rather than seeking a closer edge.
What to look for
The lookout reveals the windward coastal plain.
The Koʻolau cliff edge dominates the view.
Useful to know
Hold loose belongings in strong wind.
Stay behind the viewpoint barriers.
