Waimanalo Beach
Waimānalo Beach is a long windward shoreline backed by the Koʻolau mountains. Its open sand and local community setting differ from Waikīkī’s built-up coast.
Why go
The sweep of beach is the main reason to come, with the mountain wall adding scale behind it. Conditions on the windward side can shift with wind and shorebreak. Respect neighborhood access and parking rules, and let posted ocean warnings decide whether this is a walking or swimming visit.
What to look for
A long beach sits beneath the Koʻolau range.
Windward light and surf shape the open shore.
Useful to know
Use marked public beach access.
Follow local parking and ocean warnings.
