Po Lin Monastery’s halls and gardens
Po Lin Monastery offers a Buddhist architectural visit beside the Big Buddha at Ngong Ping. Give the halls and gardens their own time rather than treating them as part of the climb.

Founded in 1906 by three monks from Jiangsu, the monastery began as “The Big Hut” and received its present name in 1924. The Mountain Gate, Main Shrine Hall of Buddha and Hall of Bodhisattva Skanda let you trace a religious complex with a longer history than the neighbouring giant statue, completed in 1993.
