Completed in 1993, the seated bronze Buddha and its base reach 34 metres. The climb changes your view of the statue from a distant landmark to a figure surrounded by six smaller offering statues. Their gifts represent Buddhist virtues, giving the platform a subject to examine as well as a view back towards the monastery landscape.
