Forbidden Gardens
Forbidden Gardens was a Chinese-history attraction in Katy that permanently closed in 2011. Its miniature palaces and terracotta army belong to Houston-area history, not a current sightseeing plan.
Ira Poon created the attraction around scale models that translated Chinese architectural and imperial history into a walk-through landscape. A miniature Forbidden City and six thousand one-third-size terracotta warriors were its defining displays. The site closed for Grand Parkway expansion, so those descriptions should be understood as historical rather than visitable.
