Houston Museum of African American Culture
Explore African American culture through art, exhibitions and community perspectives in a compact Museum District institution. Rotating shows make the current program central to deciding how long to stay.
HMAAC connects contemporary creative work with the histories and experiences of African Americans in Houston and beyond. Its exhibitions offer a more focused cultural perspective than the large encyclopedic museums nearby. Take time to read the interpretation alongside the art, then use the current program to decide whether to return for a screening or discussion.
