Why go
This gentle westward outing suits anyone who wants a little local history before a long lakeside pause. The Tourismuseum explains how travel shaped the Interlaken area; the path toward Weissenau then trades streets for marsh and ruined stone. Finish at the Neuhaus shore of Lake Thun, where you can rest beside the water and look toward the mountains. Allow a proper walking interval from Unterseen to the ruins, and wear shoes suitable for paths that may be wet. Museum hours vary, while the lakeside makes a flexible last stop. There is no need to fit a cruise into this walk.
