Why go
This waterfront route is a good fit for families and anyone who likes to mix exhibits with fresh air. The Eco-Discovery Center introduces the marine environment, while the USCGC Ingham offers a very different maritime visit aboard a historic vessel. Truman Waterfront Park gives you space to slow down before the walk to Fort Zachary Taylor. At the fort, leave enough time for both the historic structure and the shoreline rather than treating it as a quick photo stop. These four anchors make a full but manageable day with short walks between them. The park visit is flexible if you would rather spend longer at the fort.
