Jordan Park
This spacious park beside Błonia combines everyday recreation with the story of Kraków’s pioneering public playground and physical education movement.
Why go
Use the park for a break from enclosed monuments while still finding a specifically Kraków story. Henryk Jordan established it in 1889 around organized games and exercise, and the surviving monument and busts of notable Poles distinguish it from an anonymous patch of green.
What to look for
The park began in 1889 as a public playground centered on supervised games and exercise.
Busts of notable Poles continue a program begun under Henryk Jordan.
A monument to Jordan marks the historic center of the grounds.
Useful to know
Combine the park with a walk across neighboring Błonia when you want a longer outdoor interval.
Use it between museum visits rather than as a tightly scheduled sightseeing stop.
Expect an outdoor visit and plan for Kraków’s weather.
