Why go
Choose this south Liverpool outing for a slower mix of art, a historic home and green space. Sudley House gives the day an indoor start and a direct link to the city’s shipping wealth. From there, walk to Sefton Park and take a deliberate section of its paths rather than trying to cover the entire 235 acres. Finish at the Palm House, a glasshouse within the park whose planting and structure reward a separate visit. The walk from Sudley House needs more time than the short move within the park. Aim for daylight and fair weather for the park, and check both buildings’ current opening arrangements before travelling south.
