Spanish Augustinians established this church in 1591. Its local Chinese nickname recalls palm leaves once used to protect the roof in heavy rain; from afar they looked like dragon whiskers. The building adds a living Catholic tradition to a compact cluster of heritage sites. Visit quietly and keep any service or procession route unobstructed.
