San Francisco Church
San Francisco Church and its convent stand near San Pedro Market on Cusco’s western side. The exterior is a useful stop even when interior access is uncertain.
Why go
The church’s single bell tower and the convent’s cloisters make this ensemble distinct from the churches around Plaza de Armas. Its setting also joins naturally to a San Pedro neighborhood walk, where market activity and older religious buildings share the same streets.
What to look for
The church and convent face Plaza San Francisco.
Useful to know
Walk around the church and square; verify access before planning to see the cloisters or paintings.
