Sapantiana Aqueduct
Sapantiana’s tiered stone arches turn a steep ravine into a short architectural detour above central Cusco. The structure is best seen as part of an uphill walk.
Why go
The three levels of arches show a practical response to Cusco’s broken terrain, with stone and local vegetation close around the channel. It makes a tangible engineering stop between the center and San Cristóbal without requiring a long visit. The short ravine approach reveals its height.
What to look for
A tiered stone aqueduct crosses the Sapantiana ravine.
Useful to know
Approach on foot from the historic center and combine it with the San Cristóbal viewpoint.
