Boaventura
A north-coast parish of green valleys and watercourses shows a quieter side of Madeira. Pause here for the valley landscape rather than expecting one dominant monument.
The appeal is the landscape around the settlement rather than one landmark. Use Boaventura as a pause while following the northern roads, noticing how the waterways and steep vegetation shape the valley and its views toward the sea. It is a useful contrast with the more developed swimming coast around Porto Moniz.
