Pico do Areeiro
One of Madeira’s highest accessible peaks rises to about 1,818 metres among jagged rock formations. It offers high-altitude scenery for visitors who are not committing to an onward ridge hike.
Why go
The summit area provides a high-mountain experience without first committing to a long hike. Read the ridgelines and cloud layers from the viewpoints; only treat any onward trail as a separate route with its own current access status and time budget.
