PR18 Levada do Rei
A moderate 10.6-kilometre return hike follows Levada do Rei from São Jorge toward Ribeiro Bonito. The official three-and-a-half-hour duration makes this a half-day hiking commitment.
Why go
The route traces the water channel through the northern landscape rather than ending at a roadside viewpoint. The tourism board gives about three hours thirty minutes for the full return, so protect a half-day and leave space for the wet, narrow sections near the waterfall.
