Why go
Successive Grand Masters enlarged and embellished this city-block palace, whose exterior combines an austere limestone façade with later portals and timber balconies. The armoury makes military rank and technology tangible through suits of armour and weapons. The building later served British governors and Malta's parliament, giving its history several layers beyond the Knights.
