Santo Cristo Hermitage
At the upper end of Calle Ancha, this small sixteenth-century church gives an old-town walk a clear northern anchor and a distinctive tiled architectural detail.
The hermitage formed part of a Franciscan convent and retains the scale of an intimate religious building. Its carved stone entrance and octagonal projecting sanctuary make it different from the larger parish church below. Look at the glazed roof tiles and the small openings around the sanctuary from the surrounding streets.
