Parc Longchamp
This park wraps around Palais Longchamp’s great fountain and two museums, combining a water monument, garden paths and traces of a former zoo.
Why go
The fountain celebrates the arrival of Durance water to Marseille, so the cascade is more than decoration. The park also offers a green pause between the museum wings, with old zoo structures still visible behind the palace. Both sides of the palace deserve a look.
What to look for
The monumental fountain and cascade face the Palais Longchamp.
Former zoological garden buildings survive in the park.
The museum wings frame the central water monument.
Useful to know
Approach from the fountain side before exploring the paths behind the palace.
Pair the park with one of the Palais Longchamp museums if you want a longer visit.
