Coral Way
A broad, tree-canopied corridor linking Miami and Coral Gables, valued for its historic streetscape and residential architecture more than for a single destination.
Why go
Coral Way turns the transfer between central Miami and Coral Gables into an urban-design study. A dense canopy shades sections of the roadway, while early suburban houses and Mediterranean influences reflect the city's westward growth. Because traffic dominates many stretches, the corridor is better sampled around selected blocks than walked continuously.
What to look for
A mature tree canopy forming a tunnel over parts of the road
Early residential architecture between Miami and Coral Gables
The gradual shift from urban core to planned suburb
Useful to know
Select a short residential segment or view the corridor while traveling between nearby districts.
Busy traffic makes many stretches unsuitable for leisurely walking.
