Guthrie Theater
The Guthrie combines live theater with striking public views over the Minneapolis riverfront. A brief visit can focus on its viewing spaces; a performance is a separate evening plan.

Jean Nouvel's current riverfront building makes the Mississippi and former milling district part of the experience. The Endless Bridge projects toward the water, while the Amber Box changes the color of the view. The theater itself carries a Minneapolis stage tradition that began in an earlier building near the Walker Art Center.
What to look for
The Endless Bridge frames the Mississippi and Mill District.
The Amber Box filters the city view through warm-colored glass.
Jean Nouvel designed the current riverfront theater building.
Useful to know
Treat a lobby-and-viewpoint stop separately from a ticketed performance or tour.
Combine the river views with nearby Mill City Museum for two perspectives on the same district.
