Why go
This compact walk suits visitors who want the older city at a measured pace. Begin with Minsk Town Hall and the twin-tower facade of the Cathedral of the Holy Name of Mary, then continue to Holy Spirit Cathedral above the Upper Town. Vankovich House Museum gives the streets a more personal artistic context before the route reaches the river. Finish at the Island of Tears, allowing quiet time for its mourning figures. The optional Maksim Bahdanovich Museum adds a literary visit near the end; leave it out if you prefer a shorter day. Check museum access and respect worship in the churches.
