Bagan Golden Palace
The reconstructed Bagan Golden Palace presents a royal-style complex near Old Bagan’s Tharaba Gate. Its halls and tiered roofs offer a view of courtly architecture alongside the area’s older religious monuments.
Why go
Its halls give a sense of palace form alongside Bagan’s better-known religious monuments. The building is a reconstruction, and a June 2026 ministry inspection noted work on the exhibition. It is useful as an exterior architectural stop; confirm any interior display and opening status before arranging a visit.
What to look for
See the layered roofs and carved details of the southern hall.
Compare the reconstructed palace setting with nearby Old Bagan monuments.
Useful to know
Confirm current admission and exhibition arrangements.
Allow about an hour if the compound is open; an exterior stop can be shorter.
