Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Temple
Chaukhtatgyi houses a large reclining Buddha image in Yangon’s Bahan township. The sheltered temple offers a focused view of the sculpture and a calmer stop than an open stupa platform.
The reclining Buddha is the site’s central work and gives this temple a distinct reason to visit. The government tourism listing singles it out among Yangon’s religious places, while its mapped location separates it from nearby Shwedagon and the downtown pagodas.
