Porta Capuana
Porta Capuana preserves a major city gateway at Naples’s eastern approach. Its stone arch and flanking towers give a clear, outdoor glimpse of the old defenses.
The gate marks a threshold that still makes sense on foot. Its medieval form contrasts with the busy streets around it, and the towers show that this was an entrance with defensive force. It fits a route toward the eastern edge of the historic center better than a detour solely for a photograph.
