Santa Chiara
A religious complex off Spaccanapoli with a restrained Gothic basilica and a colourful majolica cloister. The two spaces tell different chapters of Naples's history.
The medieval church was rebuilt after wartime damage, while the cloister retains an exuberant eighteenth-century ceramic scheme. That contrast is the reason to visit both. The archaeological area adds an older layer, making the complex more than a single church stop.
