Dattatreya Temple
Bhaktapur's eastern square is anchored by this carved, multi-roofed temple and its ceremonial guardians. The eastern Dattatreya Square is beyond Taumadhi and the palace plaza.
The temple's three roofs rise over Bhaktapur's eastern square, while stone guardians mark the approach at a more human scale. Reaching Dattatreya after the palace and Taumadhi plazas reveals another part of the old city's religious landscape. The change of square matters as much as the building itself, so allow a separate pause here.
