Longue Vue House and Gardens
Longue Vue joins a carefully designed 20th-century house with eight acres of garden rooms, rewarding travelers who want architecture and landscape read as one composition.
Why go
Each side of the house opens toward a different garden, so interior rooms, terraces, axes and planting schemes make more sense together. The result is less a grand-estate spectacle than a sequence of controlled views and transitions. A timed house tour adds the design logic that a garden-only walk may miss.
What to look for
Eight acres arranged as distinct garden rooms and axes
A house designed by William and Geoffrey Platt
Interior views aligned deliberately with terraces and planting
Useful to know
Book a timed house tour first, then explore the gardens before or after it.
Arrive early because guided departures begin promptly.
Use sun and rain protection; much of the visit remains outdoors even with a house ticket.
