Canadian War Museum
The Canadian War Museum follows Canada's experience of conflict through objects, testimony, and the architecture of its LeBreton Flats home. Its rising form and riverfront setting make the building part of the interpretation.
Why go
Move between the military objects and personal accounts rather than expecting a single triumphal narrative. The museum makes room for the consequences of war as well as operations and technology. Outside, the deliberate alignment toward the Peace Tower connects that difficult history to the institutions of the capital.
What to look for
Copper-clad roof rising from low concrete walls
A long sightline toward Parliament's Peace Tower
Useful to know
Reserve a substantial block for the galleries and use the riverside path for the exterior view.
