Why go
This walk suits first-time visitors who want to understand the old city through its streets rather than spend the day inside a single monument. Plaza Colón establishes the eastern gateway; Plaza de Armas and the cathedral show how civic and religious life meet in the center. Capilla del Cristo adds a small architectural pause before the route turns toward the harbor at San Juan Gate. The final stretch along Paseo de la Princesa is deliberately slower, with room to stop for views. All six stops are close enough to cover on foot, though the exposed waterfront and squares are more comfortable outside the hottest part of the day.
