Why go
This collection spans very different experiences: reef viewing from coastal gateways, rainforest walking at Mossman Gorge, island outings from Moreton Bay and Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays. The SS Yongala adds a specialist wreck-diving option. None belongs on a single statewide day route.
Useful to know
- From Brisbane, consider Moreton Bay islands as a separate outing.
- For the tropical north, combine a reef day with a distinct Daintree or Mossman Gorge day.
- Check weather, access and operator requirements for boat, flight and dive activities.

Whitehaven Beach
Whitehaven is a long silica-sand beach on Whitsunday Island, reached by water rather than road; choose a trip with enough landing time to enjoy more than the view from a boat.
