Why go
This outdoor walk suits someone who prefers to understand the Old Town from its streets and skyline. Begin by looking at the walls and gates, then head inward to the Ottoman presence around Suleiman Mosque. The nearby clock tower marks another change in height and perspective before the Street of the Knights leads uphill past former inns. Each stop is brief enough to leave time for the cobbled lanes between them. The mosque is an exterior stop; do not plan around interior access. On a hot or rainy day, shorten the exterior pauses and mind the uneven paving.
