Blue Bridge
Pause at the Moika to notice how this unusually wide bridge becomes part of Saint Isaac's Square. Its proportions are easier to appreciate from the river edge.
The Blue Bridge is much wider than it is long, so it can feel more like part of a square than a conventional crossing. The bridge operator identifies its cast-iron nineteenth-century structure and later rebuilding as part of the story. Compare the blue railings, river channel and surrounding square to understand that unusual urban form.
