Why go
The village boulevard brings dining and the coast together, from local grills to restaurants overlooking the sand. It suits a visit built around a meal and a look along the beachfront. Petite Plage offers a separate nearby cove to consider, while Creole Rock requires a boat excursion of its own.
What to look for
- Restaurant balconies projecting above Grand Case's beachfront sand.
- Low-slung Creole buildings along the village's main street.
The full story
Grand Case's coastal shape is easier to understand as an old fishing village than as a resort complex. The settlement follows the shore, with its main street running beside the beach. That close relationship between village and bay remains visible even where restaurants now occupy the waterfront. Beyond the sand lies the Anguilla Channel, the stretch of sea separating Saint Martin from Anguilla to the north. This is an island-facing seascape as well as a village beach. L'Espérance Airport lies beside the town, another useful distinction when locating Grand Case on the French side. The village, the neighbouring cove and the offshore rock occupy different settings; seeing one does not amount to visiting them all. A meal here works as a village visit in its own right.
Useful to know
- Use the village boulevard and beachfront as your anchors; treat Petite Plage as a separate nearby visit.
- Check current local bathing notices before planning to enter the sea.
