Woodlawn Theatre
The Woodlawn Theatre is an Art Deco landmark in San Antonio's Deco District. Its facade and marquee reward a brief architecture stop; current performances and interior access need checking separately.

Architect John Eberson designed the Woodlawn as a movie house, and it opened in 1946. John Wayne's The Alamo premiered here in 1960. That film connection and the restored neon marquee make the building worth noticing even when there is no show to attend. The nearby Majestic Theatre offers another San Antonio example of Eberson's work.
