Why go
Allow a relaxed day for the greener western side of Santiago. Alameda gives an easy starting point and views back towards the historic centre; the Carballeira de San Lourenzo changes the mood to an oak-shaded landscape. Continue towards the Sarela for a riverside stretch, then turn through Finca do Espino and Galeras. These linked spaces offer a varied walk without requiring a jump across the city. Vista Alegre makes a gentle finish, and the Natural History Museum there is an optional indoor addition for visitors with energy left. Paths and weather can change the pace, so leave time between stops.
