Oatland Island Wildlife Center
Oatland Island Wildlife Center combines a maritime-forest walk with native animals and salt-marsh views. Its trail makes wildlife learning a substantial outdoor outing east of downtown.
The route moves through coastal habitat rather than a formal garden or downtown park. Managed animal enclosures give families visible wildlife, while the forest and marsh provide context for the species. It needs a separate excursion and more walking time than a compact museum; the open-air trail is also less rewarding in severe weather.

Useful to know
Allow enough time for the trail loop, not just the entrance exhibits or first animal enclosures.
